Description

Seventeen-year-old Kim is the pride and joy of her father, Bryan Mills, a retired CIA agent who moved to California to be closer to her. Kim lives with her mother Lenore and her wealthy stepfather Stuart. Kim convinces her hesitant father to let her travel to Paris with her friend Amanda. Upon arriving in Paris, the girls share a cab with a stranger named Peter, and Amanda inadvertently reveals that they are alone in the city. This information leads an Albanian gang of human traffickers to kidnap the girls. Kim manages to call her father and provide some crucial information before being taken. Bryan speaks briefly to one of the kidnappers and vows to kill them if they do not release his daughter. The kidnapper responds with "good luck," prompting Bryan to travel to Paris to rescue Kim and her friend.
